Who Is Betty?

I named my saxophone Betty in honor of my great-grandmother, who first brought the instrument into our family when she gave one to her daughter, my great-aunt Carol. My aunt and my mother followed in her footsteps, carrying the music forward until it became part of my own life as a third-generation saxophonist. When I play Betty, I carry their legacy with me—a tribute to the women who first brought the instrument into our family.
